He showed little curiosity for her beyond his own thoughts. While she knew he had affection for her he gave her only on occasion indication through his inquiries that he was interested in knowing what was in her heart. He would seek out her thoughts but more often than not his mind was centered in his whereabouts and what he was doing and she would feel her heart dangling over the cliff waiting for a curious question from his heart acting as the lifeline to pull her to safety. She knew it was not his way or what he was used to. She knew he had not often sought out the conversation of another solely to understand another’s most intimate desires. But it is what she desired…from him. That which he chose not to give freely. How could her heart surrender to a desire that appeared to not want to act on the connection in that curiosity? And how did he learn to close the door on wanting to know the passions and truths in each moment with a beloved? For a heart that loves is open, curious and playful. It creates a gravitational pull that connects the heart without resistance to dance, gaze and speak in a beautiful universal volley back and forth wrapping two souls in an intimate embrace without physical touch. She wanted curiosity. She craved it. Her heart yearned for those moments now but knew they may be yet to come or the alternative of accepting the silence in a life where it may elude her forever. She sat amongst the whispering leaves talking to each other in the trees with comforting words that fell upon her ears filled with hope that wrapped her in warm comfort. Perhaps one day his affection for her and life would be seen through his heart. He would naturally seek to know her and inquire in regards to her desires and adventures. One thing she knew certain to ring true in all her being…she would never close the door to love again. She knew what it felt like to have even a crumb of a question to who she would let into her world while ignoring the hearts ever persistent knock to come in. And with her certainty in knowing what she wanted, and being brave enough to open the door, that crumb disappeared along with the fearful little mouse that ran off with it. She now walked in the power of love and a fearless knowing she could let in whomever she chose. Would he ever find it in his heart to choose her…completely? Or was his curiosity satisfied in the life he lives? Another sunset would wash over her to cleanse her being as she allowed the night sky to pull back the covers of the universe to climb into bed to rest. She marveled at the stars through her window to the heavens as she lay there grateful for all the portals of light that would journey to dance in her dreams tonight. She knew the sun would greet her again with promises of all that was to awaken the fire within her soul. She would create the moments to be held as a treasure in her heart. Even if she was the only one to hold the treasure.
