The Hymn

January 27, 2018

The fluorescent sign buzzed and the white glow lit up the choices for food but she wasn’t hungry for food. Hungry for love, hungry for being held, hungry for a passionate kiss and the soft touch of his hand in hers.  But she focused on the sign anyway only going through the motions knowing she must nourish the body.  She pulled ahead staring out the window with her hands on the steering wheel and drifted off to replay the day while she waited.  His hands were so warm today. When he reached for her and held her ice cold hands the weight of what she was feeling started to melt away.  Her being started to feel like she had just crawled into her warm bed with the heaviness of the blankets comforting her to help her feel nestled in for the night.  He had connected with her today and without hesitation he opened his heart to hear hers.  She could feel him.  The connection was sacred and the divine union of the hearts speaking to each other was a moment that filled her being with beautiful emotions.  She saw in his eyes and felt in his heart that he could feel it. Words wouldn’t have even been necessary and he knew that but he felt her heart and he spoke encouraging words that effortlessly rolled off his tongue straight from his heart.  He could feel she needed to hear his words.  And she embraced every moment with gratitude, love and tears for what was happening in that moment.  The divine connection of two hearts in flow, effortlessly giving and receiving.  The flash of the red sign and brake lights on the car in front of her brought her back into the fluorescent reality and that it was time to pay attention to what was in front of her.  As she sat there in her car, still idle with no movement her thoughts shifted to checking her phone to divert other thoughts from the day.  Perhaps if she scrolled through her email it would get her through this aching and then there it was.  An email that caught her attention that she saw was from him. There was one word in the title, “Hymn”.  Still waiting in line, she was curious and opened the email that contained only a link which she decided to click on.  As the picture from the video appeared on the screen she immediately knew what he had sent and she was overcome with emotions and immediate tears.  Her entire being started to tingle with a sensation of floating away filled with love, gratitude and joy.  She could feel the entire universe within her being.  And then the music of what sounded and felt like the angels and the entire universe singing to her started to fill the car.  This was the Hymn that had graced their conversations in what seemed like an eternity ago but had been almost 5 years to the day it had first found them on their journey.  Now it had found its way back into her car, in the drive through at this perfect moment and the tears were streaming in waterfall mode down her cheeks.  Not only for the beauty of the Hymn but what it meant to her to have the memories of moments past sharing this together on their journey and in their beautiful talks and then to be in this moment now where they were both at on their journey.  Separate, but together, sharing this moment again.  She knew they have a love that will never be broken.  She felt the oneness with the universe as she listened to the Hymn.  She felt the oneness with him.   He saw her, he felt her, he was vulnerable, he surrendered himself to her, and he was one with her today.  The car in front of her was starting to pull away so she gathered herself and wiped the tears away, still listening to the Hymn, now it was her turn to get her food.  Her attention now diverted to the attendant, she allowed the moment to float away to the universe to create another beautiful memory and she thanked god for him and the gift he gave her today.  He gave her his heart…completely.
